Biatain® Fiber by Coloplast is an advanced gelling fiber dressing widely used in the management of high-exuding wounds. It is ideal for treating both superficial and deep wounds, chronic wounds such as diabetic and pressure ulcers, and wounds resulting from burns or surgical procedures.
Technology & MaterialsThe dressing is made of nonwoven Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) fibers, reinforced with BiCo fibers and a thermal-bonded mesh for enhanced strength.
It features HexaLock Technology, which provides:
- Reduced shrinkage when saturated
- Effective retention of exudate within the wound bed
- High integrity during removal, leaving no residue
Key Features
- High Absorption & Strong Retention: Prevents leakage and protects the surrounding skin from maceration.
- Stable Structure: Maintains its form even under pressure (e.g., when used under compression dressings).
- Easy Removal: Gels into a cohesive mass that can be removed in one piece, reducing pain and dressing change time.
- Promotes a Healthy Wound Environment: Supports autolytic debridement and maintains optimal moisture for healing.
- Award-Winning Design: Recipient of the Red Dot Design Award 2020 for innovation.
